A Rainbow Bench

On February 18, 2020, Tiffany Palmer was sworn in as a Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge, as shown below. Judge Palmer’s wife, Temple University Beasley School of Law Professor Lee Carpenter, held the book on which she swore her judicial oath as LGBTQ Judges Daniel Anders (left) and Idee Fox (President Judge, standing) looked on.

Judge Palmer has been a member of the Philadelphia LGTBQ Bar Association since at least 2002, and now she will join the International Association of LGBTQ+ Judges, which is chaired by Philadelphia C.C.P. Judge Daniel Anders. Other esteemed LGBTQ members of the Philadelphia judiciary include Judge Abbe Fletman, Judge Ann Butchart, Judge Christopher Mallios, and President Judge Idee Fox.
